My friend Graham O'Brien from the Anglican Bishopdale Theological College in Nelson is an evolutionary biologist and has a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology and yet is perfectly orthodox in his evangelicalism. So no, science and faith are not mutually exclusive. Of course Mr Saad is wandering sadly astray when as an atheist he dismisses the reality of the personal God as manifested in the final and unique revelation of Jesus Christ the eternal Word of God made human - but I love his honesty and rigour. He's an honest man. I have seen a similar attitude in some other academic atheists (though not all) where while we disagree on first order questions we are very similar when it comes to the realities of Islam. Such are well worth engaging with IMHO. Tell them how you met Jesus if you get the chance!
His guest Sarah Haider is an ex-Muslim atheist who discusses her own journey as a liberal Pakistani Shi'a who renounced Islam. They discuss a broad range of issues dealing with Islam including its place within secular liberal democracies.
