A tiny bit eccentric if I might say so
Maybe these blokes had had a beer? (Hands up all those drinkers who've never said anything silly after a couple?) Maybe we could just choose not to take offence? Particularly on behalf of another set of grown-ups who are quite capable of speaking up for themselves and don't need us to patronisingly speak for them as if they were children.
Did they urge people to violence against Muslims in the video? No, they just made fun of an alien practise of some foreigners. Precisely what people in every group do when they initially ecounter strange practises among foreigners. Still, having made this principled & moral stand I hope the same organisation will be just as conscientious if some members make fun of Judaism or Christianity. No, I won't hold my breath.
Some years ago I heard the harrowing first hand story from the Korean War of a little Korean/American pre-school girl who was thrown into a barn with another younger toddler to be eaten alive by huge rats. This was because Koreans at that time had a very strict view of Race and wished to purge society of its impurities (the "Other"). The smaller child died, torn to pieces, while the older was rescued - and was adopted by an American Christian family. A bit worse than making fun of someone's dress or accent isn't it?
To prevent such hatred I would go to the wall. But this?
I think we're losing perspective. Don't you?

This is complete and utter surrender to Islam and its demands for supremacy. As I have said before, the nation that gave the world the Magna Carta is dead. The Brits operate now like a de facto Islamic state.
Louis Smith has not violated British law. He has possibly violated Sharia blasphemy laws. And for that, British Gymnastics is moving to punish him. It’s clear who is in control in Britain today. If Louis Smith is indeed fined or suspended, it will make clear that Britain is no longer a free nation.
Where is the moral outrage?
“Team GB gymnast Louis Smith suspended over Islam video,” Sky News, November 1, 2016:
The footage appeared to show the Olympic medallist laughing while former gymnast Luke Carson imitated the Islamic call to prayer. Team GB gymnast Louis Smith has been handed a two-month suspension over a video in which he appeared to mock Islam.
The footage, filmed by Smith, appeared to show the Olympian laughing while former gymnast Luke Carson imitated the Islamic call to prayer.
At the end of the video a woman is heard telling the pair “You’re not funny”, to which Smith replied: “It is”.
The 27-year-old later said he was “deeply sorry” for the footage, adding: “What I did was wrong”
The governing body’s chief executive Jane Allen said: “It is regrettable that following a historic summer of achievement, the organisation finds itself in this difficult position with two high profile members in breach of our standards of conduct.
“As the custodians of the integrity and values of the sport, we have had no choice but to act responsibly and refer this case to an independent panel for their review and determination.”
Ms Allen added: “Whilst both individuals showed remorse following the incident, we hope in the future they use their profile to have a positive impact on sport and communities.”
British Gymnastics said Smith’s suspension was a “cumulative penalty” following a previous breach of its standards code.
In June, the four-time Olympic medallist was handed a reprimand over a Twitter post which British Gymnastics said was “unbefitting to a participant”.
Smith, who won Strictly Come Dancing in 2012, said he visited two mosques “to learn more about the Muslim community” after the footage of him and Carson emerged.
In a Facebook post, he said: “I was ignorant to people’s religion. And I apologised for offending those who follow the faith.
“And just because I have the right to doesn’t mean I’m happy with doing that.”
What's the next step - placing people in the Stocks in the public square and pelting them with rotten fruit & vege?
Oh wait! Isn't that what this is?
