He also discusses the Muslim rape gangs in Britain, which are often dismissed as cultural manifestations that have nothing to do with the profoundly generous and irenic religion of Islam. But if the problem is cultural then where are the Sikh or Christian Pakistanis doing these things? As our friend states, the role model of Muhammad remains the great stumbling block - as long as he remains the al-Insan al-Kamil, the "perfect man", the ideal example of a pleasing follower of Allah, then abhorrent and pestilential practises such as FGM, rape gangs and racism will persist among Muslims.
I do not believe it is possible to reform this character Muhammad. Honest scrutiny can only lead to him being dismissed altogether. Muslims can only continue to hold him up as a moral example either by ignoring all his foul deeds and statements or by placing them in some convenient, often imaginary context.
That is not good enough. It is dishonest.
For a mere man who continually stated that he was not God to nevertheless be treated as the flawless God is not good. There was only ever one man who claimed to be God who is the centre of a great world religion. Our Pakistani friend below has found him to indeed be the person he claimed to be. He also found Muhammad to be the person he claimed to be.
The difference was so obvious that he had no choice but to change.
It's time for you to make the change too friend.
