. . . before hitler?
These days of course it is very popular to compare those of us who find ourselves only slightly to the right of Mother Teresa to be called Nazis (oh wait a minute, Mother Teresa was extremely vocal in her Pro-Life stance; of course that makes her tantamount to Hitler - Rats!! I'd better find another example). The current occupant of the White House regularly finds himself compared to the man who orchestrated the systematic destruction of millions of lives.
(BTW - If one really wanted to insult someone surely it would be better to call them Stalin or Mao wouldn't it? I mean, both men were responsible for more deaths than Hitler. I can't imagine why this oversight is perpetuated. Can you?)
But who were really nasty people compared to before Herr Hitler manifested?
Well, among his many harsh criticisms of Islam - born of years of personal experience and study - Winston Churchill called Mein Kampf the "new Koran of faith and war". Unfortunately the website I refer to here, like several others I have seen, manifests a profound ignorance of the contents of the Koran viz-a-viz the Bible. The Bible could not possibly be compared to Mein Kampf (lit. "my struggle" - as in "my jihad"). There are very clear reasons why such a well informed man chose the Koran and the prophet of Islam to compare the Hitler Movement to.
Churchill also famously stated:~
"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. ... The effects are apparent in many countries: improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. ... A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement, the next of its dignity and sanctity, ... The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. ... Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyzes the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world.”
He had a huge problem with Islam's prophet.
Not very PC is it? He'd likely be arrested for enunciating such sentiments today.
It's interesting for me to now find that Carl Jung had a similar opinion of Islam and of it's prophet. In fact in the days before there was a Hitler to compare evil people Jung likened him to Islam's prophet, Muhammad. Now why might that be?
Good question! The short video here gives us some answers. We'd better pay attention I think.
